This course is for yoga teachers, trainees and health professionals who wish to broaden their tools for movement instruction with vulnerable populations.


Manual and Certificate of Course Completion Included.

  • gentle yoga is more than just adapting standard yoga postures - vulnerable populations such as older adults, those living with chronic illness or pain and participants who wish to experience a less physically demanding form of yoga all require skillful leadership
  • learn how to recognize seven different breathing patterns that restrict health; experience practices to release them
  • understand the importance, benefits and application of the joint freeing series (pavanmukthasana) and learn at least three different adaptattions 
  • explore specific issues in sequencing and delivering gentle hatha yoga classes finishing with at least three different class outlines
  • practise the principles of teaching gentle hatha yoga in several different aspects to feel fully confident in delivering private or group classes
  • creatively utilize props such as chairs to make classes accessible to different abilities simultaneously
